Saturday 8th October saw our official launch with a ride from Wadworth, near Doncaster, to Epworth in North Lincolnshire. Pete, Bob, Danny and second claim member Adam Weaver were joined by former double British National Road Race champion, John Tanner, of the Doncaster based Planet X professional cycling team. Sadly our two other guests, Recycling's current British National Champion Russell Downing and his brother, National Circuit Racing Series Champion, Dean Downing, were unable to attend due to being away racing in Australia with their team.

Whilst the weather was warm for the time of year, the grey skies always threatened the chance of rain. Despite this the group enjoyed a pleasant ride on their route through Tickhill and Bawtry before reaching the quieter back roads towards Misson, Wroot and finally Epworth.

Once in Epworth, the group stopped at the Tiny Teapot cafe for lunch. For several years now the Tiny Teapot has been a firm favourite with cyclist from all over the region. After being well looked after by Ann, Bob and Helen and enjoying their celebration lunch they set off on their way back towards Doncaster. Although the wind strength was increasing and the skies grew darker, the group was lucky enough return home before the rain arrived.

All in all the launch was great success and both Pete and Danny would like to thank, Ann, Bob and Helen for looking after them so well. They'd also like to say a big thank you to John Tanner for his support and for taking the time attend the launch, he's a credit to the sport of cycling and a fine ambassador for the Planet X professional cycling Team.
